Durham CC's director of environment John Richardson has been chosen to serve as acting chief executive when top officer, Mark Lloyd, leaves next month. Mr Lloyd is leaving Durham to become chief executive at Cambridgeshire CC, and Mr Richardson will serve as acting top officer until a permanent replacement is chosen by the new unitary authority this summer. 'Mr Richardson is ideally placed to steer us through this period of very significant change,' said council leader, Albert Nugent.
