Chiefs to take charge of resilience programme

Council chief executives will be put in charge of developing and reviewing council-level care home resilience plans. The move by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) aims to help the Government better understand the care sector's resilience. Under the new regime, local partners will have to collectively rate their confidence across a range of measures designed to support care homes, highlighting any areas of concern. The Local Government Association is understood to have attempted to 'shape and simplify' the proposals to make them 'as light-touch and as locally flexible as possible'.
