Government push to boost PPE procurement efforts

The Government has announced that it is ramping up its efforts to procure and produce personal protective equipment (PPE). New deals with firms mean that social care staff have been promised millions of items of PPE over the coming months to help protect workers from coronavirus. The move comes ahead of the launch of the Clipper delivery system, which is not expected to be nationally available for at least another week, as the Government tries to get enough stock in place.
