Yorkshire chiefs' plan for cash to cover COVTD costs

Council chiefs across Yorkshire are considering a joint declaration that they have run out of cash amid the coronavirus crisis. And Lancashire leaders have written to communities secretary Robert Jenrick calling for more cash to deal with the costs surrounding the pandemic. Yorkshire's 22 council chief executives have said they will struggle to meet their legal obligation to balance their books if they get no further Government support in the months ahead and have mooted the prospect of co-ordinated s114 notices.
