England's first children's commissioner has called on doctors to champion the social care needs of young people. Speaking at the Royal College of General Practitioners' annual conference in Glasgow on 5 October, Sir Albert Ayns-ley Green challenged doctors to set new health and care standards for teenagers and design better services for them. 'Adolescents, in particular, have unique needs which are important in the context of their trajectory towards adulthood, which are different from those of either children or adults,' said Sir Albert.
