money matters

In Newcastle we're now in the second year of a three-year medium-term financial plan and are considering what the next plan will look like. We are scanning the horizon for clues as to what the future holds - a bit like Robert Palmer. I doubt Robert was thinking of local government finance when he wrote...who knows these days where the money goes (oh yeah)... no doubt we could put it to better use (oh my). We know where the money goes but have to believe we can put it to better use in future. The alternative isn't worth thinking about.
