It's easy to criticise Prevent without having seen the excellent safeguarding work undertaken at local level. The Home Office's controversial anti-radicalisation strategy - one of the four pillars of the £2bn annual counter-terrorism (CONTEST) programme - has been met with fierce criticism since it was introduced in 2003 and intermittently revised following the 2005 London bombings.
