Sigoma slams NHB for LEPs as 'complex and uncertain'

The proposed pooling of the New Homes Bonus (NHB) at Local Enterprise Partnership level makes the scheme 'complex and uncertain', the campaigning network of urban local authorities has said. Sigoma, the Special Interest Group of Municipal Authorities, has not gone as far as to call for the NHB to be scrapped but its response to the Government consultation called for a review of its objectives. Its response called on the Government to 'understand and recognise that the top slice represents a real cut' to council budgets.
