As the fallout from the FIFA corruption scandal continues, it was only a matter of time before someone put the boot in to the video game, which also carries the name of the international football organisation. It was reported this week that the chair of Camden LBC's culture scrutiny committee, Cllr Awale Olad has called for the London borough to boycott the popular video game and stop it being played in its youth centres. 'As a local authority we should take a strong stand against corrupt individuals and organisations,' said Cllr Olad. 'And we should start off by hurting their business by discouraging people from buying their popular video games and put a stop to FIFA video game tournaments popping up across the borough.' That's all very well, but Diary is really looking forward to the next instalment of the video game, which presumably will feature a level where officials have to avoid awkward questions at a press conference. Lolz - as the kids might say.
