Time for a different angle?

Recruiting to social care roles, at all levels, is one of the biggest challenges currently facing the statutory sector. Stories of high vacancy rates, high agency costs and high caseloads do nothing to quell the worry that the sector is in crisis. The reality is that this state of affairs generates a competitive, not a collaborative, response to your neighbours - peeking over the fence at those local authorities who share a boundary or are a commutable distance to your own to see if they're any better at recruiting, training or retaining social care staff.
