Since coming together under the West Suffolk brand, St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council have moved forward to create a single, flexible workforce. With an ambitious commercial strategy taking shape and devolution potentially on the horizon, West Suffolk now needs someone with ideas and vision to join the team as a Director. Unusually, the post comes without any direct reporting duties or specific remit. Together with joint chief executive Ian Gallin and fellow director Alex Wilson they will share senior leadership responsibilities and plan the next steps for two local authorities that now speak with one voice and a shared ambition to reinvent the world of local government.
