Local authorities have urged the Government to urgently come clean over how it will allocate the funding for new adult social care duties.The Local Government Association (LGA), which fears councils will not be left with enough time to plan and set their budgets, has told the Department of Health to reveal its chosen allocation mechanism 'as soon as possible'.New burdens totalling £283.5m will fall on local government when the Care Act comes into force in April.But councils are currently being forced to plan their 2015/16 activity based on proposed formulae that result in funding allocations 'vastly different' from those indicated in December 2013 as part of the finance settlement.
