LGA hits out at restrictive covenants for pub sales

Real ale campaigners CAMRA have joined the Local Government Association (LGA) in calling for the Government to prevent pub chains using 'restrictive covenants' to force the closure community pubs. 'Pubs are the cornerstones of our communities and they help to bring people together,' said Cllr Mike Jones, chairman of the LGA's environment and housing board. 'We want to see councils and communities controlling their high streets and having their final say when a pub reopens,' he added.
