Call for greater teamwork between LGPS members

More collaboration among local government pension scheme members (LGPS) is needed if they are to increase investment in infrastructure, a leading employer representative has suggested. Cllr Denise Le Gal, who represents English county council authorities on the LGPS advisory board, told The MJ she hoped funds would be bigger in future. Large funds like Greater Manchester have invested in infrastructure partly with the aim of unlocking strategic sites. But many smaller and medium-sized funds like Cllr Le Gal's Surrey one have yet to directly invest in infrastructure due to their size.
