￡200m pot aims to provide more housing for rent

The Government has launched a ￡200m investment fund to encourage the development of more homes for rent. The Build to Rent Fund will invest in, or provide loans to, a range of projects across England, and focus on proposals for at least 100 new privately-rented units. Money from the fund could be used to cover development costs, and once building work is completed and homes let, the builders could refinance or sell associated debt, and repay the cash back to the Government.
