Oxford heads list of award winners

Oxford City Council was named as the UK's best achieving council in The MJ's annual awards last week. The judges said the council displayed 'strong, visible collaborative leadership' and had 'successfully transformed itself into a modern and efficient authority.' The winner of the Best Achieving Council category topped a night of award winners across 14 categories at The MJ's gala awards ceremony in London's Hilton Hotel, Park Lane. More than 800 guests attended the event which was hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis (pictured).
