Norfolk County Council - a new chapter

Norfolk CC is changing, with new managing director Dr Wendy Thomson taking up her post in August, the authority is looking to hire a team of new staff to take forward its adult and children's services. One of the first priorities for Dr Thomson is children's services. After three poor Ofsted judgements, the county found itself with a dip in GSCE performance and a record number of children in care. It was the start of an improvement journey for Norfolk which saw an interim team assembled to tackle the problems and do a better job for the county's children. Now Norfolk is one year into a three-year programme. It is proud of how far it has come and excited about what could be achieved with the right permanent senior team in place. It is now looking for a director and three assistant directors to carry on the improvement journey.
