Social media aid to Connect with charities

A new guide has been published to help charities understand more about social media. The guide has been developed by the social enterprise Connect Assist and includes tips and case studies on how to use social network websites like Face-book, Twitter and YouTube. Examples range from the Princess Royal Trust's carer's forum to Beating Bowel Cancer's use of Twitter and the guide also contains advice on how to create a social media strategy. According to a survey commissioned by Connect Assist, eight out of 10 18-24-year-olds and 73% of 25-34 year °lds regularly use social media to find advice or information about support services.
