Skanska leads private sector drive to build more homes

New players look set to enter the housing sector with plans to raise residential home-building. Global construction giant Skanska surprised the City with the announcement, which detailed clear growth objectives which will start in London before expanding out into the UK. Magnus Andersson, president of the UK residential operation, confirmed work would start on sites as early as next year. And he was upbeat about the future.
