We must rise to the challenge as return to recession looms

It may feel to us like the dire economic situation in Europe threatening to cripple Rome and Athens is dreadful, but somewhat irrelevant to us here in the UK. It's not. We are in very real danger of falling back into recession, at a time when we are already suffering severe cuts which many expect to be more painful in 2012 than they were in 2011. So, while this year has been difficult for the voluntary sector, next year is most likely to be even more so. As always, many Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) members I'm speaking to are determined to drive forward their organisations, innovating and seizing opportunities wherever they can.
