In Essex, the leaders of tomorrow are being developed today. Through an exciting centre, known as the Essex Leadership Centre of Excellence, managers who have already displayed potential have been brought together to develop their leadership capacity further. 'The centre is the first of its kind in the country,' explains Yvonne Skingle, strategic HR manager at Essex CC. 'It brings together participants from 14 councils throughout Essex to address one of the key priorities identified in the Essex County Workforce Plan - the need to develop leadership capacity.'
