Social workers' time struggleA deluge of paperwork means 80% of social workers' time is spent behind a computer, according to a survey.The British Association of Social Workers' (BASW) survey of 350 members found that just 20% of their time was spent in direct contact with children and families.BASW has called for an 'organisational culture shift' through investment in IT systems, dedicated administration staff and moving away from performance indicators in an effort to reverse the situation.
