The Child Poverty Action Group has said it will continue to lobby for 'significant1 amendments to the Government1 s Welfare Reform Bill, as contentious content - including coalition plans for a total benefit cap - reaches the House of Lords. Many councils in south-east England, particularly London, have warned that the benefit cap could force poorer families from expensive areas and into neighbouring boroughs which may not have the infrastructure to cope with new demands on local government, health and education services.
