The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has warned that a 10% reduction in the core public sector work force is likely over the next five years resulting in approximately 500,000 job losses.It is not surprising therefore to find that organisations invest most, if not all of their attention, on the fair and sensitive treatment of employees who are at risk of redundancy. It is easy to overlook that the public sector will still be an essential part of any economic recovery.
