The London Borough of Barking and Dagen-ham is changing fast. The east London Borough is at the heart of the huge Thames Gateway redevelopment area - the largest and most ambitious in Europe - and will be one of the key gateways for the 2012 London Games. With a population set to grow by up to 100,000 over the next 15 years through 25,000 new homes, the Borough is served by excellent rail, underground and road links. A massive £1.2 billion of public and private sector investment is currently transforming Barking Town Centre, and the Borough is one of just 10 areas in England selected to benefit from the new Local Enterprise Growth Initiative.
