Public service union Unison has voiced concern over funding of local government in Scotland, following last week's budget announcement. Unison's Scottish secretary, Matt Smith, said: 'This is a very tight budget for key public services, and seems to be predicated on a pay cut for public sector staff. Local government seems to be facing a low increase of around 2%, which will be hardly enough to deliver the current level of services, let alone address the increasing demands on local authorities.'
