Biggest city leaders get together at summit

Leaders of England's eight biggest cities, covering a population of 16m, meet next month for the annual core cities summit in Nottingham on 7/8 November. Speakers include Hazel Blears, who will discuss the Treasury sub-national and city regions review produced in July, as well as its author, John Healey, now local government minister. Other speakers are environment secretary, Hilary Benn, Lord Digby Jones and Sir David King, the Govern-ment's chief scientific adviser.
