Spelman's Back In Tory Local Government Post

Caroline Spelman has once again swapped roles with Eric Pickles to take up her former job as the Conservative Party's shadow communities and local government secretary. Ms Spelman first took on the communities and local government portfolio in 2004, before then being made chairman of the Conservative Party in 2007. Mr Pickles was Conservative local government spokesman from 2002 to 2005, and then deputy chairman of the party, before returning to the brief in 2007 when Ms Spelman was moved to party chairman. She is currently still under investigation by the House of Commons committee on standards and privileges after she admitted last year that she used her MPs allowance to pay her children's nanny.
