The recent press interest in bonuses for bankers has stirred up quite a fuss, particularly when related to the recent consultation on recording of local government senior staff salaries. Consultation on the Accounts and audit regulations, issued before Christmas, suggests that in order to draw comparison with both senior civil servants and the private sector, there should be a change to the disclosure of remuneration.
