Chester fans have goal to reform football club

Cheshire West and Chester Council has received two bids to re-establish league football at the council-owned Deva Stadium.It follows the collapse of the local Football Conference club Chester City FC during the current season, which has left the council seeking a new tenant.Chester City FC was served with a winding-up order by HM Revenue and Customs in January, and was formally dissolved by the High Court in March, after failing to pay a ￡26,000 tax bill. The club, which was formed in 1885, was expelled from the Football Conference, the division below the four 'professional' leagues, and is now effectively out of existence.
