Gloucestershire CC is to look into giving its county councillors £10,000 each to spend on local highways projects. Members will also be given the option of pooling their money with other members, under plans discussed after The MJ went to press yesterday (Wednesday). 'County councillors are our closest link to those communities, so it makes sense for them to be more involved and to tell us where this money should be spent,' said council leader, Cllr Mark Hawthorne.
