Lincolnshire CC will become the first upper-tier authority in the country to undergo the Local Government Association's new peer review programme from 19 September. Peer reviews are aimed at creating a system of self-regulation that will replace the regular assessments carried out by the Audit Commission that were stopped by the government. David O'Connor, county council executive director for performance and governance, said every peer review would focus on the effectiveness of governance arrangements for the council, but also other requested priorities.
