A city for the millennium

Cardiff is one of Europe's youngest and most dynamic cities. It is also a city that during the last 20 or so years has changed almost beyond recognition. Traditionally Cardiff was once the world's biggest coal exporter and welcomed sailors from many countries into its port. These migrant populations helped shape the future and Car- diff is proud to be one of the UK's first multicultural cities. In recent years Cardiff has exploded into life, with the development of Cardiff Bay leading the way in a rapid expansion of regeneration across city.
