West Dunbartonshire Council has announced the appointment of Joyce White as its new chief executive. Mrs White, who is currently the executive director for corporate services, brings a wealth of senior experience to the role from both the private and public sectors, and has delivered on several major projects while at West Dunbartonshire. Danny McSorley, chief executive of Omagh DC, is to provide interim chief executive management to Strabane DC. The decision to take on this dual role was at the request of Strabane DC, to provide cover for its current chief executive, Philip Faithful, who is on long-term sick leave. This is the first shared chief executive arrangement to be agreed in Northern Ireland, and has been implemented with immediate effect.
