Shadow health secretary, John Healey, branded the Government's plans to reform the NHS as 'unwise and unnecessary' at last week's LGA conference. Speaking at a fringe event, the former local government minister said the proposals in the Health and Social Care Bill were still the 'wrong reforms at the wrong time for the NHS'. He said the main elements of the Government's plans for the NHS were still in place, even after the recent two-month listening exercise.
