Mayor to head up legacy team

London's mayor, Boris Johnson, has announced he will chair the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC). The mayor's office said the decision had been taken so that Mr Johnson could prioritise legacy uses for the Olympic Park venues, including the /428m showpiece Olympic Stadium. A decision has yet to be made on the post-Games use for the stadium, but current bidders for the site include West Ham United FC, Formula One, Ley-ton Orient FC and the UCFB College of Football. Mr Johson said: 'Securing the future of the Olympic and Paralympic legacy and building on the regeneration of east London is a matter of huge importance to me personally.'
