The MJ's front page article, 'Back off, LGA chief urges CLG ministers' (27 January), contained a number of serious inaccuracies about membership of the Local Government Association. Subscriptions to the LGA were frozen for the two years from April 2008 to March 2010, and were reduced by an average of 10% in 2010/11. As part of a commitment to reduce subscription income by 20% over the next three years, councils will see an average drop of 13% in 2011/12, including a 2.5% prompt payment discount.
