Tighter controls for 'chuggers' unveiled

New industry rules designed to regulate street fundraisers - often referred to as 'chuggers' - have come into force. The rules came into effect on 20 August, and follow moves by local authorities - including Liverpool and Newcastle city councils - to limit the number of fundraisers on city centre streets.
