Employers back slower rise in fire-fighters' contributions

Local authority employers have backed min isters' proposal to slow the pace of fire-fight ers' pension contribution increases. The DCLG last week published its full re sponse to its consultation on the Firefighters' Pension Scheme, and has opted to reduce the rate at which staff contributions will increase over the next few years.
