Crisis has warned the latest homeless figures released by the DCLG are 'just the tip of the iceberg".According to the statistics, released by the DCLG on 8 March, the number of households accepted as homeless in England increased by 14% last year. Hie number of people who approached their local council as homeless also increased by 10%, to 107,060.Crisis chief executive, Leslie Morphy, said the charity's 'worst fears are coming to pass", and blamed a combination of the economic downturn, rising unemployment and public spending cuts.
