Plans by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to reduce the obligations on public sector employers to comply with automatic enrolment legislation have been welcomed by pensions experts. Under a consultation launched last month, DWP ministers could introduce a Bill, which, among other measures, would exempt employers already providing good pension schemes from having to meet the new duties. A system of certification or self-certification is being proposed.
