Kevin Lavery, Cornwall Council's chief executive, is leaving the authority to take up the job of chief officer at Wellington City Council in New Zealand.Mr Lavery moved to Cornwall in 2008 to manage the council's transition to unitary status, and will be taking up his new post in March 2013.Bury MBC's deputy chief executive, Ruth Fair-hurst, is to leave the authority at the end of this month, after six years with the authority. She joined Bury as assistant chief executive in 2006, and was promoted to her current post in 2011.
