LEP cash pot boosts Manchester - but disappoints county bidders

Greater Manchester has emerged as the single biggest beneficiary from the inaugural round of the coalition's £2bn single pot Growth Deal. This followed the announcement on 7 July of the allocation from the cash pot - which combines disparate funding streams - among the 39 English local enterprise partnerships (LEPs).
