摘要

The title of this editorial section is Recruitment and Retention - or R&R. Why am I stating the obvious you ask? Well it's because over the last four years if you go back through the section it has pretty much focused on the 'R of recruitment', rather than the 'R of retention', which got me thinking. It's probably not surprising that the R of recruitment (or let's face it the 'R of Reorganisation') was the key activity for most resourcing managers and organisations during 2010 and 2011. But since 2012, and more latterly in 2014, the level of recruitment across the UK has been significant with employment up 37,000 quarter on quarter {source: the ONS). R&R has naturally been full of stories of how to get hired, how to make a career move, how to be a better candidate etc, and very useful and relevant it has been. So I thought I'd venture into the second R of Retention - which has probably not been top of the agenda or a hot topic of conversation around many top team tables for a while.
