Health integration is 'too focused on finance'

Health and social care integration plans will 'gather dust' if the local element is neglected, according to the Local Government Association's (LGA) wellbeing spokeswoman. Speaking at a workshop last week, Cllr Izzi Seccombe raised concerns that the focus had shifted towards finance, rather than place. Sustainability and transformation plans (STP) must be submitted later this month but Cllr Seccombe said local government needed to 'elbow its way back in because place is at the heart of the plans'.
