A survey by the charity Independent Age has revealed overwhelming public support for cross-party action to fix the growing crisis in social care. The survey, which was conducted by ComRes for the third sector organisation, showed 91% of people agreed that politicians should work together on improving health and social care services. Almost three-quarters (74%) of those surveyed also agreed that an independent commission should be launched to look into how the NHS and elderly care was funded and run in England.
