"The thread that runs through all the things I've done has been justice - but everyday justice,' says Michael King, who took over as Local Government and Ombudsman (LGO) at the beginning of this year. Mr King began his career as a freelance journalist, and fell into public services when he was regularly writing for the North Tyneside Council newspaper. 'I realised how fascinating local government was,' he says.
