Blackpool tops most deprived areas index

Neighbourhoods in Blackpool account for eight of the 10 most deprived nationally, according to the latest English indices of deprivation (ID). Blackpool also had the highest proportion of neighbourhoods (23%) in the most deprived 1% nationally. Based on the average level of deprivation across an area, Blackpool Council was scored as the most deprived local authority.
