Confusion over growth deals

Dissent is already brewing in the run up to next month's growth deal announcements by the Government. The MJ understands that local enterprise partnerships have provisionally been told the result of their bids and further negotiations are ongoing. But at the launch of the County All Party Parliamentary Group's (APPG) first report last week, there were suggestions these discussions were 'far narrower than was envisaged in the Government's description of the process' with the focus 'very much on a national assessment of projects that are due to start in 2015/16'.
