Commons group calls for overhaul of 'failing' CQC

An influential group of MPs has heaped further criticism on the beleaguered Care Quality Commission (CQC), claiming the watchdog which reviews local authority homes has still not defined its core purpose. A damning report published by the Commons' health select committee on 9 January, claims the quango has failed to establish public confidence in its work, despite several highly-critical reports over the last 18 months.
